Bali is a special place for me. Living here most of the year. I love having Bali as a base to take off and go to other places all around Indonesia. Bali has changed over the last few years, where it was once a place to get a few waves and party before heading to G-Land or taking a boat trip. Now its own destination, with new waves, world class food and clubs. Its like it’s become the new Hawaii, working the opposite time of the year as the North Shore. With some of surfing best photograpers and film makers making Bali home, it’s a perfect place to come and get some work done if your job is surfing. Last year more surfers than ever came to Bali. The usual suspects like Rasta, Koby Abberton, Jamie O’Brien and Taj Burrow and even Andy Irons came though in August claiming Bali as “the new boat trip".

I’m also a believer that some of the best surfers in the world call Bali home. For the movie we did two different boat trips to the Mentawais. Garut and Bol went on both trips and got a lot of clips, covers and shots. They each got there own song cause they worked so hard. ’’I kinda stoked to be in this movie. It’s cool cause it’s shows where I live, my lifestyle and my culture. Stoked they have the best locals in this film. I think I’m getting more famous from this movie. A lot of people around the world get to see me surf’’, says Bol. Betet also made it on one of the trips, theirs never a dull moment when he’s aboard.

To have a good section in any movie. It takes a lot of work, not only for the guys filming, but the surfers as well. I don’t think last year was one of the best year for waves but we made the best of it.
