KUTA KARNIVAL
Bali's 4th annual international event, Kuta Karnival, is set from Saturday 16th of September until Sunday 24th September 2006. The nine fun days will be filled with surfing, food festival, music, traditional dances at sunset, world's only beach skate park and a colourful parade around Kuta streets. Initially, this event was established and organized as a response to the terrorist blast that devastated the international community in October 2002. After three years it is time to continuously rebuild the image and look forward to a brighter and promising future for the island’s people and it’s tourism industry. The basic theme during the three years of Kuta Karnival implementation “A Celebration of Life” with additional annual themes such as ”Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” this year. TURTLE CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION CENTER
The conceptof a new marine Turtle Conservation and Education Centre based in Serangan Isaland (Turtle Isalnd), Southern Denpasar, was formed between the Bali Recovery Program, WWF, local government and the Australian Government Overseas Aid Program (AUSAID).
The centre is focused on conservation, education and research of the highly endangered marine turtle of Bali, to educate the turtle traders in the use of alternative produce, to contain and provide for Balinese Hindu cultural and religious needs of the turtle, and to develop the centre into a positive community income through domestic and international tourist and groups who visit the centre.
Many nesting sites on Bali beaches have been rendered unusable due to the impact of heavy development to cater for tourism. The dedicated locals and students of the centre play an important role in the protection of the hatchings and what is left in nesting sites. Many baby turtles would not have survived without the continual support from the centre and its youth volunteer workers.
For the centre to continue in the important work it is doing for the marine turtle, environment and communities of Bali, it needs and welcomes all visitors and tour groups.

Marlon Gerber re-signs with Rusty
Indonesian/ Swiss ripper Marlon Gerber has signed a three year sponsorship deal that will see him continue riding for Rusty surfboards and clothing until 2009. The stylish natural-foot, who has already represented the Rusty brand for four years, summed up the deal by stating: “I’ve been tight with the Rusty crew for ages, so by now we’re pretty much family. I’m stoked to ride for a growing company that understands what surfer’s need. I’m looking forward to working together as a team in the years ahead.”
Bali’s thriving surf scene has produced a new crop of surfer’s who are pushing the limits of the sport on a global level. Marlon is riding on the crest of this wave and has been featured regularly in the international surf media as a result.
Marlon will continue to be based in Bali to compete on the Indonesian Surfing Championship tour. He will also travel on surf trips with Rusty’s international team that includes Hawaiian Jamie ‘The Freak’ O’Brien and the high-flying Josh Kerr from Australia.

SKATEBOARDING DAY
Sejak tahun 2005, tanggal 21 Juni telah ditetapkan sebagai Skateboarding Day di seluruh dunia. Ditetapkannya hari skateboarding ini menandakan bahwa semua kegiatan, pekerjaan, dan juga sekolah ditinggalkan untuk turun ke jalan bermain skateboard dalam jumlah kecil maupun yang besar. Untuk itu SenayanSkateboarders dengan 15 skater nya juga membuat sebuah acara dengan mengunjungi 2 private park yaitu Mini Ramps Audriest dan juga Podok Pinang Skateparks.

DONATIONS FOR JOGJA
Indonesia Surfing Business Association (ISBA) yang dulunya dikenal dengan nama AISI menggalang dana untuk korban gempa di Jogja dan sekitarnya. Hingga tanggal 21 Juni 2006 dana yang terkumpul adalah Rp. 164.609.752,- ditambah lagi dengan sumbangan berupa t-shirt, sandal, selimut, dan makanan. Bantuan telah disalurkan secara berkala.
Sementara itu Jerinx dkk juga gak ketinggalan menggalang berbagai acara charity rock concert bertema Bali Love Jogja yang diadakan di Classic Café, The Wave, dan Planet Hollywood. Acara ini didukung oleh berbagai band ternama seperti The Brews, Suicidal Sinatra, Devildice, dll. Dana yang terkumpul dari event terakhir aja adalah Rp. 260.000,- dari penjualan tiket dan Rp. 535.000,- dari donation box. Dana tersebut telah disalurkan melalui rek. posko Endank Soekamti.
